Rome is one of the foremost and most travelled cities in Europe, with an extended history to match. With a mix of cultures from round the world, Rome has it all. You’ll notice everything here from Roman ruins to Renaissance art. It’s also home to fantastic food, the Vatican City and sights like the Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum and the Spanish Steps and take in all of the stunning architecture the city has to offer. Rome is also a foodie’s heaven, from the world-class cuisine, to casual trattorias, to takeaway pizzas. Here’s my ultimate Rome travel guide!
Rome may be a huge town with an excellent transit and friendly locals. I would recommend knowing a few key phrases in Italian but you will find many English speakers around in case you need assistance. The best place to stay in Rome near the Spanish Steps. We stayed at The Inn at the Spanish Steps. At the hostelry at the Spanish Steps, boutique hospitality in a privileged location on the famed Via Condotti, is part of a new concept combining personalized services with a variety of luxury accommodation tailored to guest’s each need. A historic residence with updated, classically styled rooms and suites while additional contemporary-retro designed full-serviced apartments, penthouses and suites are scattered about the immediate area. Guests like a leisurely tailored breakfast on one in all many bird’s-eye terraces encompassing breath-taking painting views of the Spanish steps, tiled rooftops and domes, or return “home” to sip on an aperitif as the sun sets. A truly authentic Roman holiday experience awaits.
One of the best places for ice cream in Rome is Giolitti with more than a hundred different flavours. We had some ice cream at Giolitti and it was absolutely delicious! We tried several flavours, including coffee, wild cherry, pomegranate and pistachio. I liked Pistachio flavour the best and I would recommend it to anyone! Great discovery! The Life building has been gift for years within the Rome’s historic center. It is considered one of the best restaurant in Rome, both for the delicious food and ambience.
